Shear Racing

Shear Racing is a family owned and operated race team that travels with the Mid-American stock car series with two cars, and plans to have a Limited Late model ready towards the end of the 2008 season. Troy Shear Sr. has been building cars and had several other drivers compete with his cars within the Mid-American series since 1994. This includes the first "Troy Shear Racing" chassis with Gene Hill bringing home the first TSR Chassis win at Elko Motor Speedway. Troy Sr. later partnered together with Steve Strasburg and Mark Pluer.

After both Troy Jr. and Kyle had grown up around racing throughout their childhood, they both finally got their chance in a seat late in the 2006 season, making their first appearance at Lake Geneva Raceway. Both brothers raced the full 2007 & 2008 Mid-American series seasons, with Kyle achieving his first win and claiming the 2007 Rookie of the Year title. Troy's 2007 season got off to a rocky start after wrecking hard at Rockford Speedway's Spring Classic, but had a much better second half of the season along with a much improved 2008 season.

The Shear Racing team currently consists of three cars for the Shear Brothers - with both Troy & Kyle Shear both racing in the Mid-American Racing Series, and also Kyle Shear racing a late model weekly and also in the Big8 Racing Series.
